Salu Cartilage
Made with Salubria® synthetic biomaterial, SaluCartilage ™ offers an alternative to treatment based on tissue without exposing the patient to infections risks, because not contain substances derived from human or animal material.

The Salubria® mechanical properties are similar to the cartilage, and this hydrogel bio-stable have the capacity to resist to overload exercises that are usually in the articulation.

The Salubria® hydrogel main components are saline serum and a high biocompatibility polymer, which is already used for years in the contact lens. On the Salubria® production is not using active agents and either produces a polymer degradation.

Procedure

The SaluCartilage™ was designed for use on open surgery procedure, minimally invasive. The procedure of SaluCartilage™ implantation is similar to that used to the autologous graft transplant or osteochondral allografts transplant; the implant is placed in a hole right to recover the surface of the damaged cartilage.

Indications

The SaluCartilage™ was developed to the chondral or osteochondrals defects of the cartilage surface treatment, which is associated to the pain in the joints or a reduction of moving ability, replacing the damaged cartilage, without destroy or remove the patient's healthy tissue.

Biocompatibilidade

+SaluCartilage™ is biologically well tolerated in positions of weight support in Rabbit Animal Model.

+There is no toxic effects of Biomaterial Salubria® in the articulation and distant organs

+There is no evidence of inflammatory reaction (synovitis), rising of debris or osteolysis associated to the implants

+The presented results confirm the biocompatibility of PVA materials based in joints applications, and are consistent to the findings results on other searches. However making a comparison, SaluCartilage™ has higher properties of strength and durability

+The results confirm that SaluCartilage™ is safe to use and has clinical utility as a treatment for chondrals and osteochondrals injuries in humans
